ProAmpac, a flexible packaging and material science company, has expanded its intellectual property portfolio with the issuance of several US patents for its ProActive Sustainability product line.

The patents encompass innovations such as ProActive Recyclable R-2000 Series and R-2050 Series, which are monomaterial laminated technologies with heat resistance, suitable for various food packaging needs.

R-2000 Series and R-2050 Series cater to dry and frozen foods, pet treats, snacks, liquids, and microwave steaming applications.

Additionally, ProActive Recyclable R-1200, a mono-web recyclable platform, is designed for dry food packaging, boasting high heat resistance, clarity, and directional tear properties.

On the other hand, ProAmpac’s ProActive Recycle Ready RT-4000 offers an alternative to traditional foil-based pet and human food pouches.

Meanwhile, ProActive Recyclable TearLite Pouches feature a built-in scoring feature that facilitates directional opening, enhancing user convenience.

These patents bolster ProAmpac’s commitment to sustainable packaging innovation, as the company develops new material technologies to help brands achieve their circularity goals.

ProAmpac noted that its efforts are supported by strategic partnerships with material and food science institutions, as well as advanced testing capabilities at its Collaboration and Innovation Center.

ProAmpac global product development and innovation senior vice-president Hesam Tabatabaei said: “Securing these patents is a testament to ProAmpac’s deep expertise in material science and our relentless drive to push the boundaries of sustainable packaging.

“As brands look to meet evolving sustainability goals, our patented monomaterial technologies provide a seamless transition to recyclable flexible packaging while maintaining product shelf life, durability, and production efficiency they depend on.”

Last month, United Dairy Farmers (UDF) opted for ProAmpac’s HandRap solution to enhance its product presentation and attract more customer interest.

The HandRap packaging features a clear film wrap and a kerbside-recyclable carton board design, allowing UDF to showcase its fresh products while extending their freshness.
