BW Flexible Systems, a provider of flexible packaging for food and nonfood products, has unveiled its upgraded manufacturing plant in Mestrino, Italy, after investing $3m in renovations.
The facility now boasts a modernised workspace alongside a new research and development (R&D) hub and enhanced production capabilities.
This renovation consolidates the operations of BW’s previous Vicenza and Mestrino locations into a single, centralised site.
The integration also brings together multiple European packaging brands, including Simionato, Sandiacre, Rose Forgrove, and Schib, under the unified Hayssen name.
Seven new rooms have been added to the facility, designed to accommodate training sessions, meetings, and guest visits.
The overhaul also features upgrades such as a new roof, updated air conditioning, windows, and eco-friendly furniture, aligning with BW’s focus on sustainability.
These improvements are set to provide a more comfortable working environment and foster better engagement with customers, the company said.
Additionally, the site upgrades meet the growing demand for environmentally responsible manufacturing practices, helping the company reduce its carbon footprint.
BW Flexible Systems Italy general director Alessandro Stiffan said: “After three years of unprecedented growth, this facility consolidation and upgrade signals our success, commitment to quality and mission to provide an unparalleled customer experience.
“We are thrilled to better meet the growing needs of our global partners with the refreshed space.”
The upgraded facility will allow for continued development in vertical form-fill-seal and flow-wrapping technologies, benefiting BW’s customers with quicker turnaround times.
BW Flexible Systems is part of BW Packaging, which also includes BW Filling & Closing and BW Integrated System.
BW Flexible Systems Italy people leader Riccardo Vestali said: “The extensive renovation has transformed our facility into a state-of-the-art workspace.
“With updated infrastructure and thoughtfully designed spaces, we are better equipped to support our team’s growth and provide a welcoming environment for our visitors.”
