The company said the flat-bottom pouch is a premium side gusseted package featuring a true flat bottom to ensure superior standability.
The packaging design will feature five graphic panels for billboarding purposes to ensure the product’s shelf presence is maximised.
Scheduled to be launched in the near future, the packaging marks an extension of ePac’s partnership with pouch equipment manufacturer Totani.
The launch aims to strengthen ePac’s position by offering new and innovative products to small and medium-sized businesses.
It will complement the company’s line of flexible pouch offerings and expand further into the coffee, pet, lawn and garden markets.
ePac Flexible Packaging operations vice-president Dave Long said: “This will really push us deeper into the coffee space to create a complete offering to our speciality coffee customers.
“It also enhances our ability to provide an alternate option to other industries that can utilise this format, including pet products along with lawn and garden applications.
“Our relationship with Totani continues to grow, and we are proud to be working with the top equipment manufacturer to bring this to market.”
Founded in 2016, ePac offers a wide range of sustainable film options to local and national brands.
The company operates 25 manufacturing sites across the US, Canada, Europe, Africa and the Asia-Pacific region.
In August this year, it revealed plans to develop a further 11 sales and manufacturing locations over the next 18 months.
These locations will be in Europe, Asia-Pacific (APAC), the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and North America.
Last month, multinational packaging company Amcor made a strategic investment of up to $45m in ePac, having previously invested around $10m-15m in the company.
