Thaddeus is building the iQ-ler for temperature-sensitive medical products. The company aims to improve patient outcomes by protecting temperature-sensitive medical products through the entirety of the medical cold chain, especially the ‘Last Mile’. Dr Scully came across temperature excursions as it relates to patient care (Pre-Analytical workflows in Clinical Pathology) at The Mayo Clinic in 2014. Patient specimens coming from the bedside to the lab bench sometimes need temperature control or risk adulteration, which could have disastrous consequences if that specimen is relied upon to be an accurate reflection of the patient’s physiology. The iQ-ler is an all-in-one system that actively safeguards and precisely controls temperature all while providing GPS, real-time temperature tracking and security with a chain-of-custody.
