IGS offers corrosion protection solutions to address operators’ challenges with many of the critical boilers and pressure vessels in the pulp and packaging manufacturing process worldwide. IGS installs alloy barriers to protect mission-critical equipment at pulp and paper mills from corrosion and erosion using proven HVTS on-site alloy cladding.
Corrosion protection for Black Liquor Recovery Boiler (BLRB) tubes
Areas where IGS technology helps prevent BLRB carbon steel boiler tube corrosion from high-temperature sulfidation attacks with thermal spray cladding systems are:
- WaterWall Tubes
- Nose Arch Tubes
- Superheater Tubes
Stop digester and flash tank stress corrosion cracking for packaging
IGS installs corrosion-resistant alloy claddings for the packaging industry, helping reduce corrosion in digester process environments. The Di-Arc 360 cladding systems use established corrosion-resistant alloys to protect the carbon steel and circular weld surfaces effectively. The cladding normally lasts seven to 14 years, depending on the vessel’s state. With the help of IGS solutions, the weld is not at risk of being diluted with iron, so the installed cladding is more resistant to corrosion than the weld overlay.
Circulating Fluidised Bed (CFB) boiler reliability
IGS employs decades of experience with over 500 CFB boiler High-Velocity Thermal Sprayed (HVTS) cladding applications to remain at the forefront of boosting run time and reducing outage frequency and cost for CFB boilers around the world.
Waste to Energy (WtE) and biomass boilers
IGS provides corrosion-resistant metal alloy protection for waste incinerators, biomass, and waste-to-energy boilers. Fuel flexibility in these boilers offers related cost reduction but results in boiler corrosion.
Applying IGS high nobility cladding can address chlorine, dew point, and hot molten salt corrosion.
IGS field experience in the packaging sector
IGS has more than 40 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry. During its extensive experience, IGS has offered HVTS cladding services and solutions to many leading kraft mills globally. Kraft Mill corrosion protection projects
Inspection and understanding the current wastage rates are very important. Information about the substrate and fuel type enables IGS to design the material and applications custom-made for problem resolution. This ensures the quality of our thermal spray claddings. We utilize on-site equipment customised for field application and advanced patented technology for maximum material bonding.
Being a global company, it is not our practice to increase our technicians with part-time service in spring and then reduce the pool of technicians in the winter and summer. We preserve a powerful and experienced team of professionals all year round.
