The inauguration comes after Aptar acquired a majority stake in Gulf Closures in March this year.
The event was also held to mark the commencement of construction works for the expansion of the site, which is expected to be completed in December next year.
Officials present at the ceremony included Bahrain Industry and Commerce Minister Abdullah bin Adel Fakhro.
At the time of acquiring the company, Aptar Closures president Hedi Tlili said: “We look forward to building on Gulf Closures’ capacity and expertise to better serve our current customers in the region and to open new market opportunities.”
The expansion of Aptar Closures comes after Aptar realigned two of its business reporting segments starting 1 January this year.
The realignment is intended to improve operations and efficiencies.
Gulf Closures specialises in manufacturing beverage closure systems in Bahrain, serving major beverage brands in the Gulf Cooperation Council, the Levant, and Africa.
It held approximately 60 employees at its facility in Bahrain at the time of acquisition and holds International Organization for Standardization and FSSC certifications.
