InlineCans are carton cans that can be made, filled and closed in one continuous process and if required, can also be further processed to end packaging.
The benefits in terms of efficiency in warehousing and logistics are immense. At the point-of-sale the packaging is convincing with its’ individual design and top quality. This new and unique machine concept has arisen from the collaboration of Hörauf und Optima. The first orders have already been received.
Conventional pre-formed carton cans are transported empty to the place of further processing. This transport of ‚air’ makes neither economic nor ecologic sense. Instead of delivering empty cans for carton packaging, the InlineCan system provides material on a reel for the can bases and bodies.
Only the closure caps are manufactured in advance and delivered as ready-to-use parts. In the same warehousing area for 1,000 conventional pre-made cans, raw materials for 30,000 InlineCans of identical size and format can now be stored.
In other words: Up to 15,000 InlineCans are obtained from one roll. Handling of pre-formed cans, including transport, storage, packaging, and availability is a substantial cost factor which now, with the introduction of InlineCan, is practically eliminated. The InlineCan is also amazingly lightweight and robust.
The InlineCan meets all the requirements for packaging with respect to product protection and POS marketing. In order to get the best protection of the contents, whether these are powders, granules or pieces, it is possible to integrate a pressure control valve, for example or to fill under protective gas or to fulfill closing by means of peel-off foil and snap caps.
With respect to the basic form, the user benefits from the wide variety of possible shapes, from a rounded square to octagonal. Ovals or combined round/square forms are all also possible. All basic forms are set by means of format tools – the height of the InlineCans is adjustable in the machine.
Depending on the product, the appropriate dosing systems are integrated in the machine, for example, for the processing of sweets, snacks, cereals, coffee, tea, milk powders or other products. In combination with certified and legally calibrated weighing technology the dosing results are absolutely precise and reduce product giveaway to a minimum. The closed can is then brought immediately to the secondary packaging station.
The InlineCan is the result of a collaboration of the machine manufacturers Hörauf and Optima with input from several packaging producers. Both introduced leading technologies: Hörauf the production process for carton containers, Optima the filling and weighing for all kind of products.
The first orders confirm the tremendous market interest for the new InlineCan machine solution. The first InlineCan machines will be delivered to customers at the beginning of 2016.
