Atlas Converting Equipment is very pleased to report that the Open House event held on 17 September in Kempston, Bedford, UK, to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Titan Slitter Rewinders was a great success. More than 80 guests, as well as representatives from partner supplier companies, Titan agents and the converting media, were welcomed to the event.
The full day’s programme of presentations included the latest slitter rewinder technology from Titan, followed by demonstrations of the ER610 Compact and SR9-DT Dual Turret models, processing a 30µ, 1,200mm wide BOPP film, kindly supplied by the Spain-based Poligal Group, and specially printed for the occasion by FFP Packaging Solutions of Northampton, UK, a long established Titan customer. Six 190mm reels were rewound on both machines and at 700m/min on the SR9-DT rewinder.
After a presentation on Atlas-Titan Service & Customer Support, the guest speaker of the day, Bobst Manchester research associate Dr Carolin Struller, gave a very interesting presentation on aluminium oxide coated transparent barrier films for packaging applications.
A buffet lunch was followed by presentations from four partner suppliers; Germany-based companies Koch robotics, Dienes Slitting Technology and BST Eltromat Web Guiding & Inspection Systems, and Italy-based Ga.Vo Core Cutting Solutions. Demonstrations of all partner suppliers’ equipment was available throughout the day.
A special Titan 50th Anniversary dinner was held at the Park Inn by Radisson hotel in the historic centre of Bedford on the evening of 16 September, which was attended by more than 50 distinguished guests.
Both Titan and all partner suppliers who participated at the event were very pleased with the level of interest in the various products presented and Titan is delighted to announce the sale of a SR9-DT Dual Turret rewinder to a North American customer, signed during the open house event, which will be delivered during the first quarter of 2015.
