At the Interpack booth occupied by Mondi, Mondi Containerboard is presenting a selection of paper grades in the form of mini paper reels. The Mondi booth (9A24) is situated in hall 9. Interpack 2011 takes place at the exhibition centre in Düsseldorf from 12 to 18 May.

Referencing not only the properties of its two ProVantage Aqua grades, but also the duration of the fair, Mondi has adopted the slogan ‘Set your sails – around the Mondi world in 7 days’. To demonstrate their resistance, ProVantage Aqua samples will be floating on water at the fair. Both grades have food packaging accreditation and are therefore the ideal choice for fruit and vegetables.

“We are experiencing growing demand for ecologically sensitive packaging materials that are suitable for wrapping fruit and vegetables. Aqua grades have no wax coating and are 100% recyclable. We are supplying our customers with first-class paper and green arguments for environment-friendly packaging,” says Containerboard sales director Florian Stockert.

Clever packaging solutions for fruit and vegetables

The Mondi Containerboard product portfolio contains a variety of paper grades that add value to fruit and vegetable packaging. ProVantage Kraftliner Aqua and ProVantage Fluting Aqua are partly water resistant without the paper being waxed. Converting cost savings are achieved because no wax dosing units are needed on the corrugators. For packaging solutions for high humidity environments and cooling chain applications, ProVantage Fluting Frigo is another grade that is compatible with demanding storage conditions. ProVantage Fluting Frigo is made from recycled fibre. This grade offers superior strength properties at 85% and 90% humidity. Delivery times are minimised thanks to the central location of our production facilities in Raubling, Germany, and Swiecie, Poland.

Ecological and economical use of waste paper

When Mondi started up its ECO7 line at the Swiecie mill in Poland in 2009, it added lightweight recycled containerboard grades to its product portfolio. ProVantage Fluting WB is a top-selling paper grade manufactured from waste paper by ECO7. The weight range of 75-140 gsm gives rise to lightweight fluting solutions, thus reducing both overall packaging weight and costs. ECO7 is one of the world’s fastest containerboard machines. Its efficiency and short production cycles result in briefer lead times and the high and fast availability of standard grades. A new service concept, ECO7 premium, makes sure that standard widths can be delivered within 24 hours in Poland and 48 hours in neighbouring markets. The central location of ECO7 in Poland is a valuable advantage in terms of delivery times.
