There is lots of talk when it comes to chocolate. It is almost like medicine. It can help you lose weight. It can bring both happiness and love into your life. But these arguments should mostly be taken with a pinch of salt. However, serious market studies about chocolate consumption give us an unambiguous message: “we love chocolate”. And just because of that, it is probably tremendously good for us.
If it was left up to us, everyone should eat at least five pieces of chocolate every day. Since chocolate keeps our blood sugar up, there will be fewer conflicts. There would be more kindness because chocolate makes us feel that we are in love. Above all, we would be better people since chocolate allows us to just enjoy the moment. You can read more about this in a book with the same name as its publisher, “Chokladfabriken”, which reflects their chocolate philosophy that explains lots of mysteries.
Chokladfabriken is a small Stockholm company that produces hand made chocolate to their customers. Their chocolates are delicate and expensive perishables that taste heavenly.
Sensual Pleasure in a Sober Packaging
At Christmas time last year, Swedish television broadcast a design program in which a few design students were given a mission to develop a packaging design to promote Chokladfabriken’s products on behalf of Korsnäs. A packaging design that would reinforce the company’s trademark and image. The creativity amongst the students resulted in a design solution where the cartonboard’s brown inside was used to convey a natural and genuine image. The pack design aims at boosting our emotions by using additional flaps and tasting notes on the extra print surface. Chocolate-tasting instead of wine-tasting.
“The students did a great job in capturing our image in the graphic design”, says Martin Isaksson, owner and a world class confectioner (member of the Swedish chef team and with several gold medals in the baggage). “There is an obvious trend today, where more and more people are longing for pleasure. Though quality awareness is more widespread today people are less sensitive to the price”, says Martin. – “My fastidious circle of customers demands ecological chocolate ingredients and that is why our packaging interplays in symbiosis with the chocolate and our philosophy”.
