Digital label press manufacturer Dantex Group has been working with inks and coatings specialist ACTEGA to integrate ECOLEAF technology into its PicoJet range of digital UV inkjet presses. With ECOLEAF providing an eco-friendly alternative to hot and cold foiling, the move highlights Dantex’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the digital inkjet label sector.
The partnership between Dantex and ACTEGA is driven by a shared ambition to introduce innovative and value-added solutions to the digital inkjet label industry. By incorporating ECOLEAF’s eco-friendly technology, Dantex aims to bring even more appeal to its cutting-edge systems by elevating the printing experience and expanding the range of stunning effects achievable with PicoJet.
Designed for a broad variety of markets, ECOLEAF is a digital solution enabling metallisation embellishments onto self-adhesive labels. Traditional foiling methods typically result in 80-90% waste of foil, whereas ECOLEAF utilises a glue trigger layer shaped like the intended image, to significantly reduce waste. This innovative process jets aluminium particles, adhering them to the glue layer to create a metallic image. This approach not only eliminates waste, it also allows for the creation of multiple metallic colours.
Ben Danon, CEO of Dantex Group, said: “We are excited to introduce this eco-friendly technology to our PicoJet range of digital UV inkjet presses, and we believe that this partnership will help us to achieve our sustainability goals while providing our customers with highly innovative and visually impactful solutions. Both parties strongly emphasise the environmental and sustainability benefits of this collaboration.”
Alongside the integration of ECOLEAF, the current PicoJet range already boasts numerous features, including the addition of new DRS (Digital Resolution System) and print head technology powered by Ricoh, as well as user-friendly PicoCenta and PicoPilot software with intuitive touchscreen interfaces. Delivering exceptional print quality and unmatched performance even at high speeds, cutting-edge innovations such as SuperText®, SuperWhite® and SuperTactile® technologies are also included, offering a wide range of finishing solutions for end-to-end label manufacture.
