The consumer goods industry’s main objectives are the ecological sustainability of packaging and the reduction of packaging weight. In developing FLEXCAR, a new packaging paper for soap wrap, the Cham Paper Group has succeeded in satisfying both those requirements.
FLEXCAR is a specially treated 50g/m² paper with an antibacterial layer optimised for packaging soap. It provides a replacement for today’s ca. 80g/m² – 90g/m² standard PET laminate paper.
FLEXCAR was developed in close co-operation with a renowned manufacturer of non-food brand name products with the goal of making the packaging more sustainable to cater to the manufacturer’s strategic objectives.
Despite its low weight, FLEXCAR satisfies the increasingly challenging demands with regard to high processing speeds and complying with the manufacturer’s efficiency objectives.
FLEXCAR enables a packaging reduction of 30% as compared to today’s standard, while satisfying the visual and tactile objectives of the development partner’s marketing department.
Consequently the Cham Paper Group is helping to realise the sustainability objectives of brand name manufacturers in the consumer goods industry.
