Berry Global has responded to the rising demand for sustainable packaging in the foodservice sector with the introduction of a new line of reusable plastic cups.
Available in various sizes for hot and cold beverages these cups aim to meet the diverse needs of on-site and takeaway services.
The range offers sizes of 250 ml and 500 ml for hot drinks and soups and 250 ml, 400ml and 500ml for cold beverages.
Efficient and sustainable features
The cups boast a durable design, featuring a reusable feel, dishwasher-safe properties and a stacking feature for space-efficient storage.
Made from polypropylene, the range is lightweight and ensures safety for food contact and ease of recycling at the end of their life cycle.
Cups for hot drinks and soups are designed with heat-insulated material and the ribbed structure provides both extra heat insulation and a secure grip.
Customisable branding opportunities
Berry Superfos product designer Emma Gundersen said: “We aimed to create a range of plastic cups that is not only reusable but also serve as a canvas for customised expressions for individual businesses.”
Businesses can personalise the cup range with logos and messages using the In-Mould Labelling (IML) space. This customisation adds a unique touch to the cups without compromising their functionality, providing a canvas for businesses to express brand identity.
Enhanced customer engagement through technology
Incorporating RFID chips or QR codes, these cups go beyond traditional packaging.
This integration offers businesses the opportunity for enhanced customer engagement, enabling streamlined return deposit systems, refill options, wash cycle tracking and efficient inventory management.
Berry CPI Foodservice vice-president Josef Björck said: “Our focus as a packaging supplier is to optimise the design process with sustainability in mind, incorporating elements such as reusability and recyclability whilst still offering our customers the opportunity to make their brand stand out with high-quality packaging solutions.”
