Eco Guardian, a provider of sustainable packaging solutions in Canada, is set to open a new manufacturing facility in Ontario.

Scheduled to be fully operational by the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2025, the facility will focus on producing compostable and recyclable paper cups and bowls.

The move is aimed at reducing Canada’s reliance on imports and supporting the “Made in Canada” initiative.

Eco Guardian is committed to minimising its carbon footprint through the use of sustainable raw materials, manufacturing processes and responsible sourcing.

The facility’s products will be 100% compostable and recyclable, adhering to environmental standards.

It will utilise a range of eco-friendly materials, including Forest Stewardship Council-certified paper, compostable linings and bamboo paper.

The new facility will produce two billion cups annually, employing advanced sustainable production technologies.

It will generate local employment opportunities and contribute to the economic development of Ontario.

The initiative is in line with the increasing demand for Canadian-made packaging solutions, as businesses face challenges with rising international trade costs and delays.

Eco Guardian aims to meet the needs of food service providers, retailers and distributors seeking dependable supply chains.

The Canadian company is engaging with businesses to secure priority production slots in anticipation of the facility’s full-scale launch.

Eco Guardian president and CEO Anil Abrol stated: “With increasing global trade uncertainties, businesses across Canada are looking for reliable, locally sourced solutions.

“This new facility will ensure that Canadian businesses have direct access to high-quality, eco-friendly, made-in-Canada packaging without the risk of cost increases due to tariffs and supply chain disruptions associated with overseas imports.

“This is more than just a facility launch — it’s a shift toward self-reliant, sustainable manufacturing in Canada. We are excited to partner with businesses looking for high-quality, ethically produced packaging that aligns with Canada’s commitment to a greener future.”
