Inovar Packaging Group, a packaging and label printing solutions provider, has acquired ModTek, a regional manufacturer of labels located in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey, US.
Specialising in pressure-sensitive and extended content labels, ModTek serves a diverse range of sectors.
These include food, craft beer, wine, spirits, and consumer durable goods, with the company’s advanced printing technology complementing Inovar’s established capabilities.
Additionally, ModTek’s expertise in embellishments such as hot stamping and embossing will enhance the range of solutions already offered by Inovar.
Shawn Borman, who founded ModTek in 2006 alongside his mother Vicki Wilkinson, and became the sole owner in 2019, will remain in charge of the business.
He will lead ModTek into its next growth phase, partnering closely with Inovar’s team.
Borman said: “ModTek and Inovar share deep alignment in what is core to our ongoing success, and that is a continued emphasis on taking great care of our customers, our employees, and our partners.
“I’m really looking forward to all the success and value our combined companies will be able to achieve.”
The acquisition strengthens Inovar’s portfolio by adding flexographic, digital, and hybrid printing techniques.
It also bolsters Inovar’s presence in the Northeast US, marking its 11th strategic acquisition.
Inovar CEO Jeff Brezek said: “As part of our ongoing efforts to expand and innovate, we are constantly looking for opportunities to enter new markets, attract new customers, and enhance our capabilities through strategic acquisitions.
“The acquisition of ModTek not only strengthens our position across a range of preferred end markets but also increases our production and distribution capacity in a key region.”
In August last year, Inovar acquired The Kennedy Group, a label and packaging platform in the US.
