US-based Central National Gottesman’s (CNG) paper and packaging distribution division Kelly Spicers has acquired Creative Packaging Group to expand its footprint in the Rocky Mountain region of the country while improving its service platform across the western US.

The expansion of Kelly Spicers in Denver includes relocation to a new facility by the end of the first quarter (Q1) of this year, thereby consolidating regional sales, distribution, and warehouse operations.

Kelly Spicers president Jan Gottesman said: “As we continue to invest in the packaging business across Kelly Spicers, the acquisition of Creative Packaging fits well with our growth strategy, particularly for our multilocation customers.

“We look forward to welcoming the Creative Packaging team to Kelly Spicers and expanding our presence in the Rocky Mountain region while enhancing our service platform across the West [US].”

Creative Packaging Group, operational since 2019, is said to offer a wide range of industrial packaging consumables and equipment to clients across various sectors, including distribution, manufacturing, agriculture, and food processing.

With a network of eight regional locations and 26 retail stores across the western US and Hawaii, Kelly Spicers remains focused on its foundational business segments.

These include supplying paper to commercial printers, as well as offering packaging, wide format products, and facilities solutions.

Kelly Spicers Packaging senior vice-president John Luyben said: “Creative Packaging brings significant industry expertise and depth to the Kelly Spicers Packaging segment.

“Their focus on quality and service aligns perfectly with our mission to make doing business easy.”

In November 2022, Kelly Spicers acquired the custom paper and board converting company Connemara Converting’s West Coast operations. The acquisition expanded Kelly Spicers’ custom converting operation to seven sheeters spread across the west of the US.
