Kraton, a global producer of speciality polymers, has earned International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS certification for its Niort manufacturing facility in France.
ISCC is an independent, multi-stakeholder initiative that ensures transparency in reporting recycled and renewable materials.
With the ISCC PLUS certification, Kraton can offer 100% certified alphamethylstyrene (AMS) and AMS phenolics resins via a mass-balance attribution method.
This certification strengthens Kraton’s position in the biobased and circular economy and its aim to help customers integrate more sustainable materials into their supply chains.
Kraton Pine Chemicals Marketing vice-president Lana Culbert said: “Our SYLVARES and SYLVATRAXX brands feature a range of high-performance AMS and AMS phenolics resins used in speciality adhesives and tyre applications.
“Our ISCC PLUS journey began in 2021 with the certification of our Sandarne, Sweden facility. Earning this certification for our Niort plant marks a significant milestone, further expanding our portfolio of sustainable solutions.”
In May last year, Kraton was granted ISCC PLUS certification for its manufacturing plant in Ohio, US.
This certification allows the facility in Belpre to manufacture up to 100% ISCC PLUS-certified renewable Styrenic Block Copolymers within the CirKular+ ReNew Series using a mass-balance method.
